The minimal starter kit for Laravel 11 and earlier: login, registration, password reset, email verification and a profile page, as controllers and views copied into your app. Superseded in February 2025 by the new starter kits, which have used Fortify since September 2025.

Neighbours
Jetstream was the larger kit of the same era, with two-factor, sessions, API tokens and teams. Today's starter kits took over the role of both, with Fortify handling authentication. Fortify is the backend alone, with no screens. Breeze copied plain controllers and views into the app.

Parts
1 The package. Required with --dev. It registers one command; after the copy, nothing of it runs in a request.
2 Stack. Six stacks, from blade to api. Flags: --dark, --pest, --ssr, --typescript, --eslint.
3 Stubs. Controllers, requests, views or pages, and tests, copied from the package's stubs/ into your application.
4 Your app. app/Http/Controllers/Auth/ and routes/auth.php, plain Laravel with no package abstraction left behind.
5 Successor. Today's kits: React, Vue, Svelte and Livewire, on Fortify since September 2025, via laravel new (monitor:710).
Hidden joinery
The README now says the kit is for Laravel 11.x and prior and points to laravel.com/starter-kits. Releases continued: 2.4.0 added Laravel 13 support in March 2026; 2.4.2 in May removed a bootstrap.js import for it. Declining --dark strips dark: classes. Pest tests are copied when --pest is passed or Pest is installed.
